These phones work great for us!We have 6 addtl phones besides the base.You can plug them anywhere you have an electrical outlet, you only need the main base plugged into the phone outlet, the rest go anywhere... basement, garage, any room you want.My biggest complaint about these phones would be that you would think that a phone that initially "searches for the base unit" upon setup would also read the phone numbers programmed into the base.You have to program each phone individually.That can be annoying!But the quality and clarity of the phones are great.They work great to intercom globally or individually if you're looking for a particular family member... also you can transfer a call from one handset to the other and hang up the first handset!...
